Mitfahren means riding together.

Suffixes, there is no clear formulation, some adjectives and nouns with some suffixes will form part-of-speech changes or word meaning changes.

Workers changed from work to unemployment.

-heit, keit, beispiel: gesund gesundheit adjectives change nouns.

-Chen, Pck Pckchen means small, and the bag becomes a small package.
