Designers will have different tests in each episode. Sometimes we will try to make clothes with non-traditional clothing materials (for example, in the third season, we will make clothes with recycled waste materials, and in the first season, we will make clothes for specific groups (for example, figure skater Sasha Cohen and Miss America Tanna Connor), or we will design products for clothing companies (Banana Republic or Meisi) or special themes (for example, cocktail parties), and we will give them specific money and limited time to make clothes. Usually work alone, but sometimes some topics need to be worked in groups. After the deadline, the designer has to change clothes, do hair and make up the model. Models have to walk the overpass, and the jury will judge everyone's clothes. The judges will ask the designers about their design ideas and interview them to work in groups. Finally, a famous designer and an unsuccessful designer will be elected, and the unsuccessful designer will be eliminated.
The finalists will spend $5,000 to make 12 brand-new ready-to-wear clothes within 12 weeks to compete in Olympus Fashion Week. Finally, all the judges will decide who will win.
Models working with designers also took part in the competition. Every week, with the gradual reduction of designers, the number of models will also decrease, and finally only one model can be left. The award-winning model will wear the clothes of the award-winning designer and appear in the cross-page column of the American version of ELLE magazine.
