It not only has a long history of cultivation, but also has many beautiful legends and stories. It is said that in ancient times, Qianlin tea was a specialty of Wudang Mountain and was regarded as a precious fairy product. In the local folks, people call this kind of tea "Taihe tea", which means "tea in a peaceful and prosperous time".
The origin of Qian Lin tea is located in Wudang Mountain area in northwest Hubei, where the climate is suitable, the rainfall is abundant and the soil is fertile, which provides unique conditions for the growth of tea trees. Therefore, the tea here is of excellent quality, unique aroma and mellow taste, which is deeply loved by people. Besides the title of Taihe Tea, Qian Lin Tea has other nicknames. For example, some places are called "rock tea" because this kind of tea tree grows among rocks in Wudang Mountain and has a unique rock fragrance.
Brief introduction to the present situation of tea trees in Qian Lin;
Tea tree in Qian Lin is a rare plant, which is only distributed in the deep forests and fertile soil around Wudang Mountain at an altitude of 800 ~1200m. It likes cold, cool and wet. The tallest and largest ancient tea tree in Qian Lin was discovered in Wudang Mountain. The roots of ancient tea trees grow out of the cracks in the rocks, which is in line with the characteristics of "throwing stones to rely on stones" recorded in "Building Da Yue Taihe Mountain Records", and then form roots in a slightly gentle place, which is in line with the trend of "roots and plants naturally winding vines" recorded in Liu's "Wudang Fudi Collection" in Yuan Dynasty.
The circumference of the base of No.3 ancient tea tree is 3.3m, the diameter of the base is 1.2m, and the height of the tree is about 10m, which conforms to the characteristics of "Qian Fangshu, whose beauty lies in Julia, is big and tall" recorded in Wudang Fortune Collection. So far, this discovery occupies the largest number of pre-forest trees found in Wudang Mountain.
