The structure of Chinese chess is limited by the "Chu River and Han Boundaries", while international chess has no gaps.

Although Chinese chess and international chess have different origins and cultures, they are similar in that they both originated from war, and their invention was inspired by ancient marches and wars.

The biggest similarity between Chinese chess and international chess is the number of chess pieces. There are thirty-two pieces in each game, and each side has sixteen pieces. The difference is that among the sixteen chess pieces in Chinese chess, there are seven types of arms: generals, soldiers, horses, cannons, chariots, and soldiers. International chess does not have "cannons" and "soldiers", but only one "queen" and three "soldiers". The arms are arranged symmetrically.
