1On the night of July 7th, 937, a Japanese army, in the name of "military exercise" near Lugouqiao, made trouble with the China garrison, demanding to enter Wanping County for a search on the pretext that a soldier was missing. Japanese unreasonable demands were rejected by China. While the negotiations were still going on, the Japanese army launched an attack on the China garrison guarding Lugou Bridge and Wanping Ancient City. The 2nd19th Regiment of the 37th Division of China Garrison in 29 army rose to resist. The Lugouqiao Incident (also known as the July 7th Incident) which shocked China and foreign countries broke out. With this as a symbol, the Japanese full-scale war of aggression against China began, and the national War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression broke out in China.
