Click on the house you want to build, and a dialog box will pop up telling you how many gold coins you need. Click the plus sign to upgrade. There are three different types. Click the option you want. Put the mouse on the seeds you want to process, you can know what materials the farm needs to prepare, as well as gold coins, and how long it will take to process them.
