Jingzhou Miao and Dong Autonomous County belongs to Huaihua City, Hunan Province. Located in the southwest of Hunan Province, south of Huaihua City, at the junction of Hunan, Guizhou and Guangxi provinces. It is located at the edge of the eastern slope of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, at the southern end of Xuefeng Mountain, and in Qujiang River Basin in the upper reaches of Yuanshui River. Huitong County in the north, Suining County in the east, Tongdao Dong Autonomous County in the south, Liping County in Guizhou Province and Tianzhu County in Jinping County in the west.

Jingzhou has a long history. During the Xia and Shang Dynasties, it was southwest of Jingzhou. In the second year of Song Chongning (A.D. 1 103), Jingzhou was located, and all previous dynasties were the locations of states, governments and roads. In the Ming Dynasty, it became the commercial center at the junction of Hunan, Guizhou and Guangxi provinces.
