When was Laozhengxing Restaurant founded?
Laozhengxing Restaurant was founded in the first year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty (1862). This is the earliest restaurant that deals in Shanghai local dishes since its opening. With a history of 158, it is the originator of Shanghai local cuisine.

Lao Zhengxing is located in the former mainland shopping mall (formerly known as Fodian) in Lane 350, Jiujiang Road, Shanghai. Its founders are sworn brothers Zhu Benben and Cai Renxing, and one of them is named Zheng and Xing, which is called Zhengxingge. Later, because of the good business, some hotels put up the signboard of "Zhengxing" under the pretext, and Zhu and Cai added the word "old" before the word "Zhengxing". Since then, "Zhengxingge" has become "Laozhengxingge".

Lao Zhengxing's earliest dishes are mainly seafood dishes, such as bacon veneer, grass carp tofu, fried fish skin, sausage soup powder, rotten bowl head and so on. During the evolution of 150 years, some dishes disappeared from the menu, but Lao Zhengxing created many new dishes and won awards frequently.

On Lao Zhengxing's menu, all kinds of honorary awards will be listed under the winning dishes.
