Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes is the general name of Mogao Grottoes and West Thousand Buddha Cave in Dunhuang City, Gansu Province. It is one of the four largest grottoes in China and the largest and best-preserved Buddhist art treasure house in the world. The Mogao Grottoes are located 25 kilometers southeast of Dunhuang City, and are dug on the cliff at the eastern foot of Mingsha Mountain. In the second year of Fujian Jianyuan before Qin Dynasty (AD 366), a shaman believer came here, and when he saw the golden light on Mingsha Mountain and the Thousand Buddha Cave, he sprouted the heart of digging, and later became a Buddhist holy place, named Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, commonly known as Thousand Buddha Cave.
China Grottoes originated from India. The traditional grottoes in India are mainly stone carvings, while the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang are mainly clay murals because rocks are not suitable for carving. Generally, the whole cave used to be round, and then it gradually faded into high plastic, shadow plastic and wall plastic. Finally, with the mural as the background, the two arts of plastic and painting were combined.
2. Mingsha Mountain
Mingsha Mountain was called Shensha Mountain and Shajiao Mountain in ancient times. It is about 40 kilometers long from east to west, 20 kilometers wide from north to south and tens of meters high. It is said that when the wind blows wildly, the gravel falling from the top of the mountain falls with the human body, and the sand mountain will make a loud noise. On weekdays, the breeze blows, and it looks like a stringed bamboo, hence the name Mingsha Mountain. The sunset landscape of Mingsha Mountain is even more intoxicating. You must see it and be amazed.

Ya Dan National Geopark in Dunhuang, Gansu Province is located about180km northwest of Dunhuang, a famous historical and cultural city in China, and about100km northwest of Yumenguan. The park covers an area of 398 square kilometers. It is a landscape of Ya Dan dominated by wind erosion. 4. Dunhuang Yangguan tourist attractions
Yangguan, located on the "Antique Beach" 70km southwest of Dunhuang City, is named after the south of Yumenguan Gate. As early as BC 12 1 year, the Western Han Dynasty set up four counties in Hexi Corridor, namely Wuwei, Zhangye, Jiuquan and Dunhuang, and established Yangguan and Yumenguan at the same time.
