Domestication translation method

The purpose is to minimize the exoticism in translation and provide natural and fluent translations for the target readers.

Venuti believes that domestication originated from this famous translation theory, "Try not to disturb readers. But for Venuti, domestication is derogatory, because it actually embodies the common policy in the mainstream cultural society, that is, "blindly using monologues from the earth and shutting out foreign cultures." "

He also believes that the dominant cultural society "is used to accepting fluent and easy-to-understand translations and hiding the values in foreign texts in its own values, so that readers can enjoy their own culture while facing other cultures" (1995: 15). "Concealment" is an important concept here, because it shows the translator's role in translation.

In the cultural society where domestication is the standard translation method, it is the translator's "concealment" that makes the translation naturally naturalized in the target culture without being discovered by readers (1995:16-17).
