The fourth season of the large-scale documentary Remember Homesickness was filmed in heping town, Shaowu City, Nanping City, Fujian Province. Nanping is a city with a long history in Fujian Province and one of the earliest developed areas in Fujian. Why has Nanping become the poorest city in Fujian?

Fujian is a developed coastal province for many people. The good development of Fujian is largely attributed to the good geographical conditions, so-called "eating the sea by the sea". But there is no sea in Nanping, only mountains. In addition, the population of Nanping is not too large, only less than 3 million, less than half of Quanzhou and Fuzhou. These factors will only make more large enterprises stay away, and it is already difficult to increase GDP.
Third, the tourism industry is single.
Speaking of Nanping, many people may not be familiar with it, but when it comes to Wuyishan, almost everyone knows it. Open the popular tourist city in Fujian, Nanping is famous on the list, and the 5A Wuyishan scenic spot in China is among the best in its kind. But Nanping, after all, is a city full of mountains, so the tourism industry in Nanping is relatively simple.
Open the scenic spot data of Nanping, and you will find that all the scenic spots in Nanping are in Wuyishan, including Jiuquxi and Feng Tianyou, all in Wuyishan. It can be said that Nanping's tourism industry is supported by Wuyi Mountain, and other scenic spots are almost invisible.
