Wu Jinghong, an overseas Chinese engaged in the catering industry in the United States, 1985 returned to China and founded the first "California Beef Noodle King". 1993 registered its trademark in China. 1996 has registered its trademark in the United States and belongs to Manulife International Company of the United States, which is owned by Wu Jinghong. Another "Teacher Li California Beef Noodle Restaurant" was founded by Li Beiqi, an overseas Chinese from Chongqing, California. From 1972 to 1974, he took the name of "King Beef Noodle" and opened three restaurants in Chinatown, Monterey Park and Hamburg, Los Angeles, and expanded to seven in 1979. Then he opened a franchise store in China under the name of "California Beef Noodle King". Beef noodles are not common in California. The raw materials of the above two kinds of "California Beef Noodles", including noodles, beef, spices and production technology, all come from China. The name "California" is just a marketing strategy.
Edit this lawsuit
There are many "California beef noodles" in China. Manulife International successfully sued Tianjin "Golden Chopsticks California Beef Noodle", and in 2007 began to sue the chain store "Mr. Li California Beef Noodle Restaurant". At the same time, Wu Jinghong's "California Beef Noodle King" was also accused of fraud by lawyers because he was not a Californian.
