Wang Yuzhen, a famous performing artist of Yunnan Opera, won the ninth Plum Blossom Award for Chinese Drama and the first Plum Blossom Award for China Drama in our province. There are 10 actors in our college who have won the Camellia Award, the highest award for drama performance in Yunnan Province. Among the talents of the "Four Groups" of Yunnan literature and art jointly commended by the Propaganda Department of Yunnan Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Department of Culture and the Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, 9 people in our institute were commended. Many people were awarded the titles of "Young Performing Artist" and "Excellent Young Actor" by the Provincial Department of Culture.

In 2008, Yunnan Theatre, as a protected unit, successfully declared Yunnan Opera as the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage projects.

The theater has two performing groups, an art room, a party and government office, a performance management department and a theater.
