Both sailfish and swordfish are very fast swimmers in the ocean. They both have streamlined bodies that allow them to swim with less resistance. However, compared to the two, sailfish are faster swimmers. Studies have found that the fastest recorded speed of a sailfish is 190 kilometers per hour, while the fastest recorded speed of a swordfish is about 130 kilometers per hour. Some of the sailfish's body structures, such as well-developed muscles and fins, make them faster swimmers than swordfish.
