Influenced by western modernist literature in his early years, Jing Fu's later works, John Manjiro's Wandering and Duoshi Ancient Village (1939), are works describing the life of the lower class, showing a realistic tendency. The masterpiece Stop Clinic Today (1949) describes the joys and sorrows of ordinary people through the story of an old doctor treating patients, reflecting the social chaos in the early postwar period, the hardships of the bottom people's lives and their sincere friendship. "Farewell to the Captain" (1950) exposes the contemptible and disgusting features of fascist soldiers in a mocking style. 1965 published the novel Black Rain, which depicts the tragic scene of Hiroshima people after the atomic bomb explosion.

Jingfu's works are mostly based on daily life, and the characters are mostly kind and hardworking people, writing about their struggles in the world, telling their misfortunes and sorrows, and placing deep sympathy on them. His works are full of local flavor, revealing deep sadness in humor and wit, and have a unique artistic style. 1960 was elected as a member of the Art Academy, and 1966 was awarded the Cultural Medal by the Japanese government. Many works such as "Farewell to the Captain" have been translated into Chinese.
