90% of the noodle restaurants in Lamian Noodles, Lanzhou, are not owned by Lanzhou people. Ramen restaurants all over the country actually come from Hualong, Qinghai, so Lamian Noodles, Lanzhou should be called Lamian Noodles, Qinghai. Like Huimian Noodles in Henan and Paomo in Shaanxi, "Lanzhou Lamian Noodles" is actually just a kind of food name.

In 1980s, Hualong people began to push Lamian Noodles's business to the whole country. At first, it was called Lamian Noodles in Qinghai. Later, because Lanzhou beef noodles were more famous, they simply changed into the signboard of "Lanzhou Beef Lamian Noodles". At present, there are nearly 40,000 "Lanzhou Lamian Noodles" from Hualong in Qinghai.
