Pigeon breeding technology:

1, the selection of good breeding pigeons

Good breeding pigeons are large, healthy, pure color, good adaptability, fast growth and strong fertility, the general breeding period of up to 5 years, the peak of 3 years. The highest annual litter of good breeder is 18 (6-9 litters), the lowest is 12, due to different nutritional levels, the breeder's egg-laying rate, fertilization rate, hatching rate is also different. When introducing pigeons, you should choose those with outstanding breed characteristics, harmonious male and female pairing, and young and strong breeders.

2, provide good feeding conditions

The pigeon loft can be as simple as possible, but the basic requirements are: high and dry terrain, convenient drainage, quiet environment, less stress factors. The pigeon loft itself should be able to avoid wind, rain, sun, sun exposure, moisture, ventilation, lighting, anti-hazard, cleaning and disinfection, and keep the room dry.

The pigeon breeding generally adopts two ways of cage breeding and flat-breeding (flat land free-range breeding). Cage pigeons to 3 pairs / square meter is appropriate, flat pigeons to 2 pairs / square meter is appropriate.

3, the supply of nutritious feed

The key to raising good pigeons is to raise good breeding pigeons. Breeding pigeons do not eat much, but they need to be fed with complete nutrition. A breeder pigeon daily feed is about 45 to 50g, to each feeding left a little appropriate, too much feed will not only cause waste, but also increase the breeding cost.

Usually rice-based feed formula for rice 45%, peas 25%, corn 20%, wheat 10%; corn-based feed formula for corn 45%, peas 25%, wheat 15%, sorghum 15%.

4, pay attention to the role of health care sand

Health care sand dosage is not large, but is indispensable in the process of growth and development of pigeons in the nutrients and auxiliary growth promoter. A breeding pigeon needs to eat about 6g of health care sand every day. Health sand is best used now, to ensure that fresh, sometimes in order to reduce the dosage of labor time, you can also be a good preparation, put in a sealed non-toxic plastic bags or other clean utensils, for multiple use.

5, strengthen the breeding pigeons feeding management

Based on the different stages of growth and development of breeding pigeons, that is, the pairing period, holding eggs (incubation) period, brood period, feathering period, to provide nutrients focused on the feed, health care sand, to create a suitable environment, in order to strive to improve the breeding pigeons' egg-laying rate, fertilization and hatching rate. In addition, for the young pigeons, in addition to careful breeding, but also appropriate to increase the light, to give a more spacious activity site, in order to promote its development as soon as possible, to be its sexual maturity, to the timely elimination of the fittest, natural or artificial pairing, in order to continue to expand the breeding stock, enhance production capacity.
