Are sea oysters the same thing as raw oysters?

Sea oysters and oysters are not a thing.

The difference between sea oysters and raw oysters is as follows:

1, the range of species is different. Sea oyster is the mollusc phylum bivalve oyster oyster order oyster family's common name, species up to more than 100 kinds, and oysters only belong to one of them. In other words, oysters must be sea oysters, but sea oysters are not necessarily oysters.

2, the growing environment is different. Ordinary sea oysters mainly live in the seaside reefs or other hard objects, China's Bohai Sea, Yellow Sea and other sea areas, are the main output of sea oysters. Oysters on the growth of environmental requirements are more demanding, must be in the river and the sea at the confluence of growth, that is, is located in half seawater and half fresh water in the shallow waters of the inner bay area.

3, different appearance. Sea oysters are smaller, rougher shell, oyster meat is mostly light green, less meat; oysters are larger, shell than oysters smooth some, oyster meat is mostly white, but also with a lot of silt, more meat, meat, full, weight than the ordinary oysters a lot heavier.

Methods for selecting oysters

1, look at the appearance. Larger, meaty, rich and heavy oysters, head round, up and down a certain thickness, a shell is flat, another shell high bulging. If the oyster is long and narrow, and the upper and lower shells are flat, the oyster is usually small and the meat is thin.

2, look at the gap. Fresh live oysters, muscle column powerful, upper and lower oyster shell tightly closed, the gap is tight, which indicates that the shell inside the oyster is fresh and live. If the oysters of the upper and lower shell gap is large, or directly open, you can see the oyster meat inside, it is not fresh oysters.

3, smell flavor. Fresh oysters have a natural seafood flavor, fresh and pleasant; if it is not fresh oysters, a sniff will have a pungent "fishy smell".
