There are two aspects of Hui marriage customs that need special attention. No matter how the wedding changes now, these two customs are inevitable.
The first thing to pay attention to is to propose marriage. No matter whether it is free love or blind date, Hui people have to find more than two matchmakers to propose marriage, usually one mentor and one male and one female. If the man is a Muslim, the matchmaker needs to prepare a four-color ceremony when proposing marriage, telling the woman's surname, family economic situation, Sect and so on. In addition, you can also give a brief introduction to the man, such as education, skills and personality. If the woman is Hui, the groom also needs to propose marriage according to this custom. If the woman agrees, the matchmaker will reply to the man on the spot, then the woman's matchmaker will come to see people and finally meet the men and women outside. If she agrees, the woman accepts the man's money, and basically she can be considered engaged.
The second custom that needs attention is to order tea. Ordering tea also has its own day, which needs to be on Friday. Mainly, the man's family prepares high and medium-grade tea, brown sugar, five kernels, sesame seeds, longan and other items, wraps them into a catty of dowry and seals them with red paper. The other is to prepare 2 or 3 sets of new clothes and go to the woman's house to rent them together. The woman needs to hold a banquet with cattle, sheep and sugar tea, and finally return a gift to the man, indicating that the marriage will not change and will never go back on our word.
