Hinghua Cauliflower Festival starts in April.
April to May every year is the best time to come to see the cauliflower on Thousand Islands. The economic benefits brought by tourism to the ancient town of Xinghua cannot be underestimated. Xinghua, located in the "Yangtze River Delta" economic zone, with a water area of 1.2 million acres, known as the "land of fish and rice" reputation.
2,300 years of historical precipitation, creating the wonders of Xinghua thousand stacks of cauliflower fields, left Zheng Banqiao, Shi Naiyan and other literati ancient relics, to be traced.
History of the festival:
Xinghua Thousand Islands Cauliflower Scenic Area is located in Dongwang Village, Qianyi Town, Xinghua City, Jiangsu Province, with a total area of nearly 10,000 mu. As an ancient city built more than 2,300 years ago, Xinghua has a deep cultural deposits and unique water township beauty: water forest park, known as "trees grow in the water, birds singing in the branches. Zheng Banqiao's former residence, not only preserved Zheng Banqiao's living supplies, but also Zheng Banqiao's handwriting and the ink treasures of the literati through the ages.
Buyi, Shui, Zhuang and Yi ethnic groups near the Jiulong River gather here in costume to sing songs and choose their spouses, and the distinctive styles of weapon dance, lion dance, stilt dance, and wild hairy man dance are colorful.
And on the third day of the third month of the lunar calendar, there is the Song Festival held in the scenic area of the Duoi River, 33 kilometers southeast of Luoping County, where people of all ethnic groups from Yunnan, Guizhou and Guiwei provinces converge, which is also a spectacular scene. Every year after the Spring Festival, Luoping Dam is a sea of rapeseed flowers.
