How to grow anise to achieve high yield?
Star anise is used as food seasoning in our daily life. We add some in daily stir-fries and stews to make the meat more delicious. Star anise also has high medicinal value. It can be used as a seasoning in the diet. It has a rich fragrance and can increase people's appetite after being added. At the same time, it is also used in traditional Chinese medicine. Its relatively mild medicinal properties are effective in treating waist and knee pain, indigestion, athlete's foot, etc. At the same time, it is also used as a raw material in the production of cosmetics and industrial foods. The price of the anise we often use in the market is relatively high. Since its demand is not very large, there are not many people growing it. I have never seen anise. The trees don’t even know where it came from. Star anise requires a good environment and professional management. Those who want to engage in star anise cultivation must first understand its habits and characteristics and planting management before they can achieve high yields.
1. Choose a suitable growing environment. Fennel trees have poor ability to withstand strong light and are generally not cultivated in plain areas. For cultivation in mountainous areas, soils rich in organic matter should be selected, fertile and deep, and short-lived. The sunshine time, the surrounding vegetation is dense, and it has a humid and shady environment. It cannot be planted on low-lying ground that is prone to water accumulation. The root system of the star anise tree is relatively weak. If planted in a wind outlet, it will be easily blown down by strong winds, which is not conducive to the high quality and high yield of the star anise tree and affects the normal fruit bearing of the star anise tree.
2. Choose high-quality and improved varieties. If you want the octagonal trees to bear fruit early, when propagating seedlings, it is best to choose octagonal trees that are 20 to 50 years old, have high-quality and high yields, and have strong potential to increase yields. Seed seedlings can be raised, or octagonal branches with good early maturity, high quality and high yield can be used as mother trees for grafting. Therefore, paying attention to the selection of octagonal varieties is an effective measure to increase octagonal yield and produce early results. When planting star anise trees for afforestation, in order to achieve early fruiting, the bigger the seedlings the better, preferably the seedlings that are more than two years old, so that they can be put into normal production soon after planting and afforestation. Planting grafted seedlings. Generally, the spacing between plants is 3 meters and the spacing between rows is 4 meters. The transplanting time is generally arranged in spring and autumn.
3. It grows with grass. The star anise tree likes a cool climate and is intolerant to strong light. It also likes moist soil. Therefore, the fields where star anise is planted should not be bare. Grass can be planted between the rows of star anise trees to cover the ground to provide shade and avoid high temperatures in summer, which is conducive to the normal growth of the star anise trees and early entry into the fruiting period.
4. Scientific pruning and management. Newly planted anise seedlings should be cultivated into two main trunks. Some friends think that dwarf cultivation technology is better, which depends on the habit of grooming the tree. Generally, star anise trees take about 50 to 60 days from planting to confirmed survival. Root topdressing is generally not carried out until survival is confirmed. Brassinolide can be sprayed on the leaves to increase the chance of survival of the star anise tree.
5. Prevent and control pests and diseases. Anthracnose will cause damage to star anise fruits and leaves. In terms of prevention and control, prevention-oriented measures are generally adopted. During the growth period of the tree, 600 times of antiviral alum + 800 times of thiophanate methyl can be used for spraying prevention. If anthracnose occurs in the early stage, 1000 times of liquid prochloraz can be used. +1000 times liquid pyraclostrobin for spraying. In addition to ordinary prevention, Bordeaux mixture can be used for whole plant sandblasting prevention.
6. Strengthen field management. In the management of octagonal woodland, attention should be paid to cultivating and weeding, shading and moisturizing, pruning branches, and preventing and controlling pests and diseases. In addition, star anise likes a dark and humid environment. Pay attention to shade and sun protection, and avoid direct sunlight. In the management of star anise pests and diseases, if any pests or diseases are found, they should be treated with pesticides in the early stage in time. In management work, we can fully apply the above knowledge and learn from experienced veterans. I believe everyone can master this skill quickly and achieve high productivity.
7. Seedling cultivation and post-emergence management. Star anise seeds contain a lot of oil and have a thick outer skin. In order to ensure early germination and emergence after sowing, germination treatment should be done in advance. The seeds after germination should be germinated in about a week. It can germinate. Seeds that have not been germinated will take 15 days to germinate, and then they can be planted. After the anise seeds germinate and are unearthed, the straw, rice straw and other coverings covering the seedbed should be promptly removed, and a shade shed should be built in a north-south direction to prevent the anise seedlings from being burned and killed by long-term sunlight exposure.
After the star anise sprouts, you need to take careful care of it. It does not require excessive watering, as long as the seedbed is not dry. Spray it in the morning and evening to replenish water, and do a good job of weeding.
