How should I plant my rosettes? Should I pay attention to any problems during planting?

Lianwu can be planted all year round in the tropics, at a particular planting period, the main influencing factors are the water management after planting and meteorological conditions, in the south, it is usually planted in spring or fall.

1. Spring planting

Spring is the most suitable time for planting, i.e. from March to May every year. During this time, temperatures begin to rise gradually, rain begins to increase, and everything resumes growth. If the average temperature stays above 22℃ for several consecutive days, planting can be done on sunny, cloudy or rainy days. The planting can promote the rapid growth of lotus root system, high survival rate, fast growth of seedlings, but should not be planted in torrential rain, strong winds, late spring cold and other bad weather, so as not to affect the survival rate.

2, fall planting

Autumn sowing is usually in September to October, when the rainy season is not yet over, the temperature is comfortable, if managed properly, the lotus can once again grow new roots and buds. However, areas where irrigation water cannot be guaranteed in fall and winter are not suitable for planting, and fall sowing should not be late. Otherwise, due to the lowering of temperature and rainfall, the growth of seedlings is greatly affected by the weather, and it is difficult to recover, which may easily lead to weak trees or withered seedlings.

3, planting preparations

Mountainous area spotting excavation should be determined according to the width of the ladder surface, narrow ladder should be planted in a single row, wide ladder should be planted in two rows, if a certain amount of area into a row, you can be a specific shape spotting planting. The planting hole should be determined according to the plant spacing, and should be large and deep to facilitate the relaxation and extension of the root system of the lotus. Each planting hole should be dug into a square hole about 80 cm deep and 80 cm wide. It is best to put 5 ~ 10 kg of fresh green manure in the bottom of each hole and sprinkle a small amount of lime; the middle layer should be applied with 30 ~ 50 kg of fully fermented agricultural fertilizer or soil miscellaneous fertilizer, 1.0 kg of calcium superphosphate, 1.5 kg of potash, and evenly mixed with the topsoil.

Plant on flat ground, east-west direction. If the soil is not fertile and deep enough, dig a square hole 80cm deep and 80cm wide and apply enough fertilizer as prepared before planting in mountainous areas. Open a drainage ditch with a width of 30 ~ 40 ~ 50cm and a depth of 40 ~ 50cm on the flat ground to prevent seedlings from being flooded and root rot in the rainy season.

4, planting methods

Select healthy and disease-free seedlings from the nursery, prune the seedlings if necessary, cut off unreasonable branches and long roots, expand the seedling root system to ensure that the root system is not curved and evenly distributed; stand the seedlings, backfill them to expose the root neck, and compact them with your feet, so that the roots of the seedlings are tightly integrated with the soil. Don't plant seedlings too deep, or the root system will be affected. Don't plant seedlings too shallow to avoid drought or being blown off by the wind. For planting in mountainous areas, make a round furrow with the seedlings as the center and pour enough root-fixing water. When planting, you can also use a hoe to weed, or use straw to increase the water retention capacity of the soil and slow down the evaporation of water around the roots of the seedlings.

5, planting late management

After planting, in order to prevent strong winds shaking, you can insert support poles to tie the seedlings tight. Under the condition of no rain, watering 1-2 times a day to keep the soil moist at the root of the seedlings. After 7 days of watering, watering can be done every 2 ~ 3 days to ensure the water requirement of the seedlings and promote their survival. About 25 days after sowing, you can spray diluted fertilizer or marsh liquid or apply 0.1-0.2 kg urea per plant at about 15 cm outside the seedling stem. After that, spray every 10 ~ 15 days to promote seedling growth.

The above is about the method of lotus planting and the problems that need attention. For everyone to understand the reference and learning, I hope it will help you.
