Suggest a balanced diet to strengthen your immune system and support your nervous system. Keep caffeine intake to a minimum, drink alcohol in moderation, eat complex carbohydrates (whole grain breads, pasta and potatoes with skins), which are especially helpful in reducing mood swings, and eat enough fresh fruits and vegetables, with fewer delicate cookies, cakes and the like. Eat less fatty foods, eat slowly, and take enough time to eat; gobbling will only add to the stress. Avoid self-medicating traps such as smoking more, numbing the pain with alcohol, taking medication, or drinking too much coffee. This will only make things worse and will do no good.
