The most common parasites on bullfrogs are generally schizothoracic larvae, which can be killed by high temperatures. Schizothoracin larvae can tolerate, in their natural environment, temperature changes from minus 10 degrees to 56 degrees. At zero degrees, known as chilled storage conditions, the schizothoracia can survive for dozens of days inside the muscle tissue of the host.
Cleft larvae are relatively sensitive to high temperatures, and under in vitro culture conditions, cleft larvae basically persist for no more than five minutes at 56 degrees Celsius, in addition to heating and freezing is also one of the ways to kill cleft larvae. Freezing at minus 20 degrees for two hours can kill all the schizothoracic larvae in frog meat, for large packages of frog meat, minus 20 degrees under the condition of freezing for 24 hours is more appropriate.
