Youyu Daoqing is a type of Han opera. It generally refers to the type of drama popular in the Daoqing system in northern Shanxi. Those in the Shenchi and Wuzhai areas are also called "Shenchi Daoqing", and those in the Zuoyun and Youyu areas are called "Zuoyun Daoqing" or "Youyu Daoqing". The historical evolution is unknown. The music also uses tunes such as "Slope Sheep" and "Youhulu" as well as the banqiang of seven-character sentences and cross-sentence sentences. The accompaniment is mainly fished drums, simple wooden boards, flutes, and Sihu. Traditional plays include "The Biography of Xiangzi", "Li Cuilian", etc., most of which have religious overtones.
