Since China was introduced into Fujian Province from Britain in the middle of19th century, some local germplasm resources have been formed through domestication, artificial directional selection and breeding, so most of the cauliflower germplasm resources in China are concentrated in Fujian. In addition, the cauliflower cultivation in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province has a long history and rich germplasm resources. Although the history of cauliflower cultivation in China is not long, it has developed very rapidly. Before the 1970s, cauliflower was not widely planted, especially in the north, and it was only planted sporadically, so it was classified as "fine vegetables". After 1980s, the planting area continued to expand, and it developed faster in 1990s. Cauliflower is planted almost all over the north and south. At present, the cultivated areas are Shandong, Henan, Gansu, Fujian, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Shanghai and other places, and cauliflower has become one of the important vegetables in China.
