Expanded Information
The author was a landscape painter, and it is said that he once painted "Fishing Songs" as a picture. Indeed, the lyrics are rich in picturesqueness. Cang Yan, white egrets, brightly colored peach forests, clear running water, tawny Mandarin fish, green bucket hats, green straw raincoats, vivid colors, clever ideas, and beautiful moods make the reader feel as if he is looking at an outstanding picture of spring flooding in the water country.
The lyric puts the author's love of freedom and nature in the beautiful water town scenery and idealized fisherman's life. What attracts the readers more is not the fisherman in a straw raincoat raining in the wind and rain, but the picture of the rising water of the spring river and the misty rain during the peach blossom flood in February in Jiangxiang.
The green hills in the rain, the fishing boats on the river, the egrets in the sky, the red peaches on both sides of the river, the color is bright but looks soft, the atmosphere is serene but energetic. And this reflects the author's artistic craftsmanship, but also reflects his lofty, tranquil and leisurely interest.
