There are two types of Camellia oleifera saplings supplied by our farm, namely Cenxi soft-branch Camellia oleifera saplings and Tengxian giant (large) fruit safflower Camellia oleifera seedlings.

If you are simply using it for oil production, we recommend that you consider Cenxi soft branch Camellia oleifera. Cenxi soft branch Camellia oleifera is a nationally certified improved variety with high yield, early yield, fast growth, strong resistance to diseases and pests, and stable yield. It has a well-developed root system and strong adaptability. It can be grown south of the Yangtze River. Among all the improved varieties of Camellia oleifera, it has the widest range of varieties. It is an improved variety from farmers. It has been selected and cultivated since the 1970s. After more than ten years of selection, it has the widest range of varieties. What came out was the first camellia variety to pass the national quality certification. In the 1980s, the Guangxi Forestry Institute had successfully trialed planting in 14 provinces in South China. The fruit-bearing time of Teng County's large-fruited red flower camellia is relatively long, and it is 3-5 years later than the Cenxi soft-branch camellia. Therefore, the short-term benefits are not obvious. The annual output of high-yield is also good, but there are differences in large and small years. The output is not as stable as Cenxi soft branch Camellia oleifera, so the average oil production is not as high as Cenxi Soft Branch Camellia oleifera; in addition, due to its plant shape (large plant shape) and flowering characteristics (red flowers bloom during the Chinese New Year, the flowering period Up to 4 months), fruit shape (the fruit is very large, generally the cross-section diameter of the fruit is 7-13cm, and will be red when mature, like a lantern), so it is highly ornamental and can double as a street tree. If you take into account both oil production and ornamental value, you can choose Tengxian Big Fruit Safflower Camellia oleifera. It likes a mild climate and is not suitable for planting in places that are too cold or too far north.
