The raising of chili crabs need to pay attention to the depth of the water body, chili crabs can not be deep-water culture, but the water body can not be too shallow, generally need to be controlled between 12 to 14 centimeters, more suitable for chili crabs to survive.
Chili crabs are very timid, like to hide in the mud and sand, and fear of sunlight, when keeping them, you need to put some mud and sand at the bottom of the culture tank, so that the chili crabs have a place to hide. Pepper crabs need to be exposed to the water for air occasionally, so you need to place sunken wood in the tank so that it can climb and rest.
The breeding density of pepper crabs should not be too high, generally every 30 liters of water can keep 5 pepper crabs, 100 liters of water is best to keep less than 20. If the breeding density is too high, the oxygen in the tank may be insufficient, affecting the survival rate of pepper crabs. Pepper crabs are too small to be kept with aggressive fish. Especially during its shell change, it is even more defenseless and will only become food for fish, so try not to mix it with fish.
Growing environment
If you want a less monotonous breeding tank, you can keep smaller and milder fish. Keeping chili crabs usually requires a water change once a week, if you feed too much, resulting in cloudy water, then you need to change the water in time. It is also important to note that it is not advisable to change the entire tank of water at once, and it is appropriate to change a quarter of the water at a time.
While the native environment of pepper crabs is in seawater, it is not necessary to put salt in artificial feeding, it can also survive in fresh water. To feed the chili crab, you can feed some algae or plentiful shrimp, you can also give it a combination of meat and vegetables, water plants, meat it can eat. But you can not feed cooked meat, usually two days to feed once can, each time should be a small amount of feeding, to avoid too much food residue.
