Exfoliative cheilitis
I bought one lipstick after another, and the brand changed one after another, but I still haven't found the "it" that belongs to you?

After others use it, it is moist and full, but after you use it, it is dry and peeling. Even cheilitis

You know, the skin of our lips is very fragile. Because this part of the skin has only a small amount of sebaceous glands, no sweat glands and no natural protective film, it is easy to lose water.

Especially in autumn and winter, due to the cold and dry climate, lips are prone to dryness, itching and discomfort, and many people will subconsciously lick their lips. ...

Because saliva contains various digestive enzymes, it will destroy the barrier function of lip mucosa, and then aggravate the symptoms of dryness and itching, so most people will feel drier and drier.

There are generally two kinds of panniculitis caused by lipstick:

contact cheilitis

Flavors, antioxidants and preservatives are common allergens that cause contact cheilitis.

Other ingredients such as external drugs, toothpaste, dental preparations, lipstick and sunscreen lipstick, contact cosmetics, nail polish, tobacco, rubber, metal and so on. Or eating oranges, lemons, mangoes and other fruits may also cause contact cheilitis.

Exfoliative cheilitis

Usually used to describe unexplained primary desquamation and mild inflammation of lips, it is sometimes difficult to distinguish it from chronic actinic cheilitis and chronic contact dermatitis.

Exfoliative cheilitis can be secondary to mechanical stimulation such as habitual lip licking, and allergic reaction caused by lipstick and other substances may also be the cause.

Looking at the ingredient list again, we can easily find that most lipsticks contain lanolin, vaseline, liquid paraffin and paraffin.

In lipstick, wax and grease are the main load-bearing components and play the role of forming agent. The gloss, hardness, hardness and melting point of lipstick are mainly related to waxes, including beeswax, microcrystalline wax and carnauba wax. The feeling and moisturizing of skin are mainly related to oils, including jojoba oil, lanolin and squalane.

yolk

It is a kind of oil secreted by sheepskin and attached to wool. Later, lanolin was recovered and refined from the washing coarse wool liquid. It has a very good moisturizing effect on the skin. Usually, few people are allergic to lanolin.

vaseline

The alias is vaseline (you will be familiar with it by changing its name), which can restore luster and elasticity to the skin. Vaseline is not easily absorbed by the skin and will not cause acute allergy or irritation.

Liquid paraffin

Mineral oil, alias, is a substance distilled at a certain boiling point during oil refining and used as a solvent for oil-soluble components in lipstick. The higher the purity, the better the quality. If it contains impurities, it may cause allergies.

paraffin

It is a hard wax obtained by petroleum fractionation, which can reduce the evaporation of skin moisture and make skin soft and elastic.

The similarity of the above four ingredients is that they are all common sealing and moisturizing ingredients, which can form a sealing film on the skin surface, prevent moisture from volatilizing and firmly lock moisture.

Its main anti-inflammatory component is allantoin, which can relieve skin redness, moisturize and repair.

Allantoin is also commonly used in pharmaceutical products, cosmetics (lotions, creams) and oral hygiene products (toothpaste, mouthwash).

There are many kinds of lipsticks on the market now, so be careful when choosing them ~

A high-quality lipstick should have the following characteristics

No irritation to lips (edible raw materials), no harm (low content of heavy metals) and no microbial pollution.

Taste natural and pleasant

The appearance color is uniform, smooth and flat.

Stable, storage without caking, crushing, softening or peculiar smell, "sweating" (similar to surface water droplets)

Lipstick can choose these.

Lipstick containing sodium hyaluronate, ceramide, squalane and other ingredients, while moisturizing, also helps to repair the skin barrier.

Lipstick containing castor oil, jojoba oil, vaseline and other sealing agents can effectively lock in moisture and make lips more tender.

Lipstick containing allantoin, vitamin E and other moisturizing ingredients can relieve chapped and peeling lips.

It is best not to choose these lipsticks.

Lipstick containing exfoliating ingredients such as salicylic acid and phenol removes the dry skin of the lips, but it also destroys the cuticle of the lips. The moisture in the lips is easy to stay and may become drier and drier.

Some people will choose to use disposable lip mask, similar to facial mask, which can moisturize the stratum corneum briefly and quickly, and it is not a big problem to apply it occasionally. However, it is not recommended to use lip mask for a long time, including "pure natural lip mask" such as honey and aloe.

Anyway, lipstick is just a tool to help your lips moisturize. If you have cheilitis, you must see a doctor. See a doctor (say the important thing three times) and follow the doctor's advice! Don't expect to be cured by lipstick alone.

Don't forget to care for your lips while caring for your face ~ after all, dry and peeling lips won't make people want to kiss!
