When arowana is young, its fins are light golden green, its scales are slightly pink at the edge and its mouth is light red. The fish is golden yellow when it grows into a fish, with a slightly golden red scale frame on the scale edge, special crimson stripes on the mouth and gill cover, and crimson fins. The colors of fins and scales in different parts can be divided into orange, pink, crimson and blood red, and the whole body shines, showing its unique charm.

Living habits:

It is difficult to distinguish between males and females in adolescence. The abdomen of mature female fish is slightly convex, while the male fish is still slender. In addition, the female arowana is always shorter than the male fish, the abdomen is more prone to edema, and the pectoral fins and head color are not as deep as the male fish.

Hatching requires a large body of water, and each pair of parent fish lays 40~ 150 eggs at a time. The male fish will put the eggs in his mouth, which can contain 30~80 eggs at a time until the hatching is completed. When the young fish hatch, they will gather near the male fish. At night, the male fish opens his mouth and puts all the young fish in his mouth to complete this oral incubation and protect the young fish. It is difficult to breed, and now it has been successfully commercialized by professional fish farms in Indonesia and other places.
