Growth habit of pineapple
Pineapple likes a humid environment, so it is usually enough to keep the pot soil moist. Generally, it is not watered in rainy days. If it is domestic, it is best to use exposed water instead of tap water.
Lighting requirements: Pineapple requires high lighting, grows well under sufficient lighting, and the fruit has high sugar content and good quality, while the growth is slow under insufficient lighting, and the fruit has high acid content and poor quality.
Growth temperature: Pineapple usually grows best in the annual average environment of 24-27℃, and grows slowly in the range of 15-40℃, and grows slowly below 15℃, and basically stops growing below 10℃, and 5℃ is the critical temperature for cold.
Pineapple culture method
In fact, pineapple is very easy to raise, so it is not necessary to manage it deliberately. Water it after the soil is slightly dry, and then water it until the soil is wet. When cultivating, put it in a cool place, spray water on the leaves frequently, and control the temperature above 10℃.
Pineapple watering: Pineapple doesn't need to be watered too much. It can be replenished every 7- 10 days in autumn and winter. When adding water, let the water accumulate on the central leaf tube and observe the absorption of the water. If the water accumulates for more than a week, it should be dumped and replaced with fresh water to avoid breeding germs.
Fertilization of pineapple: Pineapple needs to use different fertilizers in different growth periods. Using water-soluble fertilizers rich in humic acid in growth period can improve and promote growth. Using high-nitrogen and high-potassium water-soluble fertilizers in flowering and fruiting period can improve flowering and fruiting rate, and the effect of flower preservation is good. Using high-potassium water-soluble fertilizers in expansion period can improve fruit quality.
Pineapple cutting: Pineapple cutting propagation, cutting small tubers growing in the tuber part of the mother plant, or dividing plants with tender buds growing in the roots of old plants, should avoid shade, keep moisture and keep warm. When the roots grow to 2-3 cm, they can be planted.
Matters needing attention in pineapple maintenance
In the environment with high temperature and humidity and poor ventilation, pineapples are prone to produce pests and diseases, such as soot disease, powdery mildew, red spider, scale insects, etc., so it is necessary to keep the temperature and humidity appropriate and keep the environment well ventilated.
