"Infinite Sumire" is a popular manga that has been serialized in "Monthly Afternoon" since 1993. Its author, Hiroaki Shamura, has become a staple of period drama entertainment with his overwhelmingly graphic depictions, bold performances, and brand new action scenes. The story centers on Rin, a young girl who has set out on a journey of revenge after her parents were murdered, and her companion, Manji, a man who has become immortal by planting a blood fairy worm in his body.
Koichi Mashita is supervising the series, and has directed a variety of anime such as "Captain No Responsibility," "MADLAX," and the ".hack" series.
The series is composed by Hiroyuki Kawasaki, who worked on "Golden Gundam" and "Spirit of the Gods," the artwork is by Kikitsu Yamashita, who worked on "Chaos Samurai" and "Tsubasa Chronicles," and the animation is by BeeTrain, who worked on "Noir" and "Tsubasa Chronicles."
The voice actors are a great deal more lavish than usual, with Tomokazu Kansai, Toshina Sato, Amiko Noto, Tomoyuki Morikawa, Mariichi Miki and Tomoyuki Morikawa.
