How to read Cuanxia Village in Beijing?
Cuanxia Village is located in Zhaitang Town, Mentougou District, western suburb of Beijing. Its real name is Cuanxia Village, which is 90 kilometers away from Beijing. This is a village that many old Beijingers like to go to.

The word "Cuan" is also a pictographic Chinese character. The original meaning of "Cuan" is a stove. When this mountain village was built in those years, the owner named it "Cuan Xia", which means to escape from the cold, and may have the meaning of refuge. The view implies that people have a great sense of paradise. There are also vivid jingles that have been handed down: Xing prefix, Lin prefix waist, and big characters are on fire.

The full name of Cuanxia village is Han, which is said to have been immigrated from the big pagoda tree in Hongtong County, Shanxi Province in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Up to now, it has bred 17 generations of descendants.

Cuandoxia Village has a history of more than 400 years, and now it has preserved 500 quadrangle dwellings in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is the first time that a relatively complete ancient mountain village complex has been found in China, with reasonable layout, rigorous structure and distinctive features. The gatehouse is strictly graded, the pier is beautifully carved, the brick carving screen wall is unique, and mural couplets are everywhere.

Village history

Cuanxia village, built in Ming dynasty, followed the Ming system in Qing dynasty. During the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty (1403- 1424), the ancestors of the village moved here from Shanxi with the migration from Shanxi to Beijing, and this Han settlement was established.

In the tenth year of Zhengde in the Ming Dynasty (15 15), three brothers, Han Fujin, Han Fuyin and Han Fucang, the first ancestor of Cuandoxia Village, were ordered to keep the pass from Yanhe City to Cuonokou, and gradually multiplied and developed, forming Cuandoxia Village where the Han family lived.

In the fourteenth year of Zhengde in Ming Dynasty (15 19), the ancient post road was built, and then it gradually developed into an important stop for merchants in the past, thus forming an ancient village settlement.

In the sixth year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty (1876), Cuanxia village was placed under the management of Qijiasi in wanping county, and the soldiers were transferred to the army for the people. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, the anti-Japanese democratic government in the first district of wanping county moved to Cuanxia village.
