Ice powder is a famous Han snack and a summer snack in Guizhou, Sichuan. It is cool and sweet, tender and refreshing, promotes body fluids and relieves heat, cools and reduces internal heat. According to investigation, ice powder began in Wuyang (now Pengshan County) during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The founder was Wang Weiyuan, and it was known as "Weiyuan ice powder" in history. At first, it was only sold in Pengshan County, and then gradually spread to surrounding cities and counties. By the mid-Qing Dynasty, it spread throughout Sichuan, flourished in the late Qing Dynasty, and reached its peak during the Cultural Revolution.
