1, Huai'an City, abbreviated as "Huai", formerly known as Huaiyin City, is an important center city in northern Jiangsu Province and a modern center city in the northern Yangtze River Delta. It has the fourth largest freshwater lake in China, Hongze Lake. As of 2023, Huai'an City has 4 districts and 3 counties under its jurisdiction, covering an area of 10,030 square kilometers. Huai'an is a national civilized city, one of the main birthplaces of Huaiyang cuisine, and has been awarded the title of "Gourmet Capital of the World" by UNESCO, as well as being one of the birthplaces of ancient cultures in the Jianghuai Basin.
