According to folklore, there are all kinds of monsters under the tomb of this tower. The tomb is 9 stories high, so it is called the nine-story demon tower. The owner of Wei Xue 1 Tomb is still controversial. Many people think that this tomb is the tomb of Gu Hun, a noble in the northwest of the Tang Dynasty in the 8th century. Others think that the owner of the tomb should be the tomb of Tibetan officials sent by Tubo. But what is certain is that the tomb is indeed a tomb of ethnic minorities in the Tang Dynasty.
1 Wei Xue's tomb is magnificent, facing south, with a height of 33 meters, a width of 37 meters from north to south and a length of 55 meters from east to west. It is located in the middle of the two east-west mountains behind, with excellent feng shui, which is beyond the ordinary people's possession. It is said that it is estimated that at least 10 thousand workers are needed to build this tomb every year. The east and west mountains are like two dragons, and this tomb is like a pearl on the dragon's mouth, showing the trend of two dragons playing with pearls. The 9 th floor of the tomb was tamped by manpower layer by layer, and the interval between floors was paved with a century-old cypress.
Although there are many terrible legends in this ancient tomb, it still can't stop grave robbers. In the 1990s, grave robbers used explosives and bulldozers to rob tombs, which caused serious damage to the top two floors of the 9-story demon tower. Archaeologists conducted a rescue excavation for this purpose. Through the archaeological excavation of the top two floors of Yao Tower, many wooden products written in Mongolian and Tibetan in Tang Dynasty, such as silk, pottery, jade and gold and silver utensils with national characteristics, were unearthed, and the remains of horses were the most. But archaeologists only dug these two floors and did not continue to dig below. Many people guess that they have dug up some strange things and dare not dig any more, but the actual reason is that the protection technology of unearthed cultural relics is not developed enough, and they are afraid that the unearthed silk and calligraphy and painting will turn to ashes in an instant. Dingling is a painful lesson, and the excavation of the nine-story demon tower must not be allowed to become the second Dingling. The best way to preserve cultural relics is not to disturb them.
