The so-called Yangming fu-organ syndrome is simply a disease induced by external cold evil entering the body along our Yangming meridian, and then transforming into internal heat in the stomach, which is stagnant with dry feces in the intestine, leading to the obstruction of fu-organ qi in the body.

This disease was summarized into four words by predecessors: "fullness, dryness and excess".

The "fullness" means that the chest and abdomen feel like something is pressing down, and the "fullness" means that the chest and abdomen are full. The "dryness" is mainly due to dry feces in the intestines, which can't be cured. The "solid" abdominal pain refuses to be pressed, or clear water is used, but the abdominal pain is still not relieved. At the same time, some patients will have delirium and face hot flashes, which are all "solid".

These diseases are all caused by stagnation of pathogenic heat and obstruction in intestinal organs, so the best treatment is to reduce heat stagnation, that is, to relieve pain, disperse stagnation and stop diarrhea by clearing heat from the interior.

Then speaking of the most famous prescription of this treatment, we have to say that Zhang Zhongjing included Dachengqi Decoction in Treatise on Febrile Diseases. This prescription is the representative prescription for treating the excess syndrome of Yangming fu-organs, and it is also the basic prescription for the method of descending heat. 1. Yangming fu-organ syndrome: Abdominal pain is difficult to press, stool is not smooth, frequency turns to arrogance, even delirious speech, hot flashes on face, sweating on hands and feet, and dry tongue coating is mainly yellow or black.

2. Syndrome of heat-knot bypass: The so-called "heat-knot bypass" means that the heat evil in the body is blazing, and the dry stool does not come out, which leads to the body fluid flowing from the side down, and most patients drain clean water, with foul breath and dry mouth.

3. Interior-excess heat syndrome: it is often seen in heat syncope or madness caused by excessive heat evil.

Since Dachengqi decoction has so many effects, which drugs are it made of? The composition of this prescription is very simple, and only four Chinese medicines are used, namely rhubarb, magnolia officinalis, mirabilite and immature bitter orange, and almost all of them are medicines for purging heat and promoting qi circulation.

Rhubarb in this prescription is bitter and cold, purges heat, and purges constipation, which can clear pathogenic heat in intestinal tract. Glauber's salt is bitter and cold, purges heat and purges constipation, and moistens dryness and softens hardness. The compatibility of the two can enhance the efficacy of rhubarb in relieving heat stagnation. At the same time, when they are used together, they can both purge bitter and cold, soften hardness and moisten dryness, and have strong ability of purging heat.

Stagnation of internal resistance in stool will lead to obstruction of fu-organs, which will lead to accumulation of internal heat and excess evil in the body, so it is difficult to get rid of it quickly. Therefore, a large amount of Magnolia officinalis is used in this prescription to promote qi circulation, relieve bloating and eliminate fullness. Therefore, it is mentioned in Ke Qin's "Typhoid Fever Comes to Su Ji" that due to the unsmooth qi movement, the drugs that attack and accumulate are used to promote qi. "Magnolia officinalis times rhubarb is the king of qi and medicine, and its name is big."

Fructus Aurantii Immaturus purges qi to relieve swelling and dissipate stagnation, helping Magnolia officinalis to promote qi circulation and remove fullness. Magnolia Officinalis, Fructus Aurantii Immaturus, Radix et Rhizoma Rhei and Natrii Sulfas are used together. "Those who are blocked are unblocked, and those who are closed are unblocked. The excess syndrome of Yangming fu-organs is relieved and cured to conform to the downward trend of stomach qi, which is called "bearing qi".

However, it is worth mentioning that Dachengqi Decoction, which was secretly passed down by the medical sage Zhang Zhongjing, has only four kinds of traditional Chinese medicines, but it is very powerful to calm down the heat.
