Algae body yellowish green, 10-30 cm long, up to 40 cm. The body is nearly ovoid, often with a slightly undulating edge, or a broad blade. The body thickness is 45 micrometers or less.

Grows in the bay, the mid-tidal zone and the low-tide zone on the rocks or stone marshes. Distributed along the coast from Zhejiang to Hainan Island in Guangdong; rare along the Yellow and Bohai Seas.
