1. The pattern on the turtle's back is different.

The back of the money beetle is brown or gray-black, with three obvious black vertical lines, and the middle one is the most obvious and the longest, so it is also called Chuanzi back turtle. The scarab beetle does not have this feature.

2. The head is different. There is a yellow diamond mark on the top of the glans penis, which is smooth and scaleless. The top of the beetle's head is smooth and olive green.

3. The abdominal nail is different. The beetle plate (abdominal nail) is transverse and connected by ligaments, so it is also called broken plate turtle. The beetle's belly armor is yellow, and there are large ink stains on the outside of each shield.

4. The carapace is different. The hard skin around the edge of the beetle's carapace is orange, so it is also called the red-edged turtle. However, the carapace of the beetle is flat, brown-yellow-green or brown-black, with three ridges, the central one is more obvious, and the rear edge is slightly serrated.

The money turtle, commonly known as Trigonella, Red-bellied, Golden-headed, Chuanzi-backed and Red-edged, is mainly distributed in subtropical countries and regions such as China, Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Hainan, Hong Kong, Macau and northern and southern Vietnam. It mainly feeds on earthworms, in addition to fish, shrimp, insects and some plant foods in the river.

mauremys mutica, the scientific name of Shijin, is commonly known as Stone Tortoise, Water Tortoise, Yellow Tortoise, Sweet Tortoise, etc. It is mainly distributed in Anhui, Fujian, Taiwan Province, Jiangsu, Guangxi, Guangdong, Yunnan, Hainan, Hong Kong and other places in China, and is mainly distributed in Vietnam and other countries abroad, and is commonly found in mountainous basins or river valleys in hilly areas.
