Chang 'e, the fairy of the Moon Palace in China mythology and the wife of Daxie, is called Chang 'e because of her extraordinary beauty. An old man admired Yi's sacred strength and talent, and gave him a pack of elixir, which could make him live forever. Unable to part with his beloved wife and villagers, Yi hid the fairy medicine in a treasure box.
Yi had a disciple named Peng Meng, who was a villain, fantasizing about immortality, so that he could ascend to heaven and become immortal, and he was bent on getting the fairy medicine of Hou Yi. On the morning of August 15th, Hou Yi wanted to take his disciples out. Feng Meng pretended to be ill and stayed. In the evening, Feng Meng rushed into Houyi's house with a sword in his hand, threatening Chang 'e to hand over the fairy medicine.
Chang 'e was afraid that Peng Meng would harm the people after getting the fairy medicine, so she had no choice but to swallow all the medicine. Immediately, she was as light as a swallow and floated out of the window into the sky. Because Chang 'e loved her husband, she finally stopped on the moon closest to the earth.
When Hou Yi went out and came back, he didn't see his wife Chang 'e. He rushed out of the door anxiously, only to see the bright moon in the sky, shadows dancing on the round moon, and a jade rabbit jumping around under the tree. My wife is standing by a laurel tree and staring at herself affectionately. "Chang 'e! Chang 'e! " Hou Yi repeatedly called, desperately chasing after the moon. But he chased three steps forward, and the moon retreated three steps, and he couldn't catch up.
The villagers miss the kind Chang 'e very much, and put Chang 'e's favorite food in the yard to bless her at a distance. Since then, August 15th every year has become the Mid-Autumn Festival that people look forward to reunion.
From then on, on August 15th every year, Chang 'e will walk out of the Moon Palace, look to the earth and miss her husband and villagers. Her beautiful face makes the moon especially round and bright.
