Medicinal effects
Can be used to defeat fire, usually with a red taste of very bitter, soaked in water, anti-inflammatory, diuretic.
Taste and function: bitter, slightly cold. Attributed to the lung meridian. Clearing heat and removing toxins, diuretic and removing dampness. It is used for echinacea fever, cold, mumps, sore throat, cough, orchitis, herpes. The common dosage is 15-30 grams; external use is appropriate.
Note: P. minima L. is usually also used as a lantern fruit in medicine. Its plant, leaves, flowers and fruits are smaller than this species and can be distinguished.
Nutrition
The fruit is rich in nutrients, containing 5% -11% sugar, 0.9% -2.3% organic acid, per 100 grams of fresh fruit containing vitamin C55 mg, but also contains iron, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and other trace elements.
