Cilantro, original name: coriander, alias: coriander, caraway, Umbelliferae, coriander genus annual or biennial, strongly smelling herb, 20-100 cm tall. Root fusiform, slender, with most of the slender branch roots. Stem terete, erect, much branched, striate, usually smooth. Rooted leaves stipitate, styles erect when young, reflexed outward when fruit ripe. Fruit globose, dorsal main ribs and adjacent secondary ribs conspicuous. Endosperm ventrally concave.
Edible value
The stems and leaves are used as vegetables and spices, and have the effect of stomachic and digestion; the fruits can be extracted aromatic oil.
Medicinal value
The fruit is used as a medicine to expel wind, penetrate rashes, and strengthen the stomach.
