Produced in Xinjiang, snow lotus is a perennial herb. There are many types of snowdrops, such as jellyfish snowdrops, hairy head snowdrops, sheep head snowdrops, and Tibetan snowdrops.
At the blooming season in July every year, snowdrops produce a large and brightly colored disk at the top of the stem, surrounded by a circle of large yellowish hemispherical bracts. The overall appearance of the flower is similar to that of an aquatic lotus.
The snowdrop's flowers are fragrant, and the scent can waft dozens of meters downwind. Soon after flowering, in August, the snowdrops quickly produce oblong achenes with longitudinal ribs.
