How to keep Phalaenopsis? Is it good to live?
Phalaenopsis orchid is native to the tropics, the temperature requirement is high, the suitable temperature for the whole year is 25~28℃ during the daytime and 18~20℃ at night, which can be slightly higher during the period of seedlings, and the night temperature can be raised to 23~25℃. When the temperature is lower than 15℃ in winter, the roots of Phalaenopsis orchids will stop absorbing water, growth stagnation, and in serious cases, even frostbite leaves, causing drop buds or rust-colored spots on the petals, which directly affects the ornamental effect. Therefore, domesticated Phalaenopsis orchids should be in the light near the window, until the summer comes can be moved to the outdoor balcony cultivation, but requires 60% shading, in order to prevent strong sunlight yellow or burn the leaves.

Besides the temperature and light condition, watering and fertilizing are also the key to planting good Phalaenopsis. 6~September is the growth period of Phalaenopsis, watering is about every 2~3 days, and watering is good when the surface of the plant material is dry. Winter is the slow growth period of Phalaenopsis, at this time, watering should be reduced, about half a month once, only sprinkle wet plant material can be, do not splash the liquid water on the leaves or leaf sheaths of the plant, so as not to cause water retention and rot. Fertilizer also varies according to the different growing seasons, it can be applied every 1~2 weeks during the peak growing period, and should be suspended during the blooming period and winter, otherwise, it will easily lead to excess fertilizer accumulating in the plant material, which will make the plant material acidified or alkaline, and will not be conducive to the growth of the orchid plant in the future.

The following three reasons are mainly blamed for the failure of Phalaenopsis:

Watering too often -- many people worry about Phalaenopsis lack of water, regardless of whether the plant material is dry and lack of water, hard to water every day, which results in a lot of water to the root of the orchid composting.

Over-fertilizing--There are fertilizers to be applied, and it is thought that more fertilizers will be applied to the orchid plant to grow faster, but the result is contrary to what you want, which will cause more fertilizers or thick fertilizers to hurt the roots.

Small plants planted in large pots - wrongly believe that large pots can give orchids a loose environment, but in fact the pots are too large, resulting in stagnation of too much water in the plant material, which can easily lead to root rot.

In order to encourage Phalaenopsis to bloom again in the coming year in the home environment, make sure to put the mature plant in a room with air-conditioning in September, maintaining a temperature of about 20 ℃, until the flower buds grow out and then can be moved back to the original balcony or indoor light, maintaining a temperature of more than 25 ℃ until the next spring blooming.
