The peach tree is native to China and is one of the oldest species of traditionally cultivated fruit trees in China. According to literature, China's peach cultivation has a history of more than 4,000 years, its main features are as follows:

The peach tree is one of the most adaptable and widely distributed fruit trees. Important peach commercial cultivation centers around the world are distributed in the south and north latitudes between 30 and 45 degrees. More than 70 countries around the world produce peach. China's north from Heilongjiang, south to Guangdong, west from Xinjiang Korla, Tibet Lhasa, east to the coastal provinces and Taiwan Province have peach tree cultivation. Peach trees are more adaptable to the soil, whether plains, mountains, can be planted.

Peach fruit juicy sweet, rich in sugar, organic acids, minerals and a variety of vitamins. Peach kernel contains 45% oil.

Peach trees are generally 2.5 to 3 meters high, such as dense cultivation, can be controlled within 2 meters; cultivation technology requirements are relatively simple, easy to yield; peach tree pests and diseases than apples, pears less.

Peach sprouting rate is high, strong branching force. The new shoots can be born 2 to 4 times a year, the annual growth is large, the crown formation is fast. In addition, peach than apple, pear and other tree species easy to form flower buds, through scientific management, planting the year of peach trees can form a large number of flower buds, the second year of production.

(5) fruit intolerance storage and transportation

Soft soluble varieties in the hot season after harvest storage 2 ~ 3 days on soft, rot, some late varieties of storage and transportation is better, but only short-term storage. Although the fruit of the peach is not resistant to storage, but because of the diversity of peach tree varieties, early, medium and late maturing varieties are available. As a result, the annual cycle of the fruit supply period is long, open field cultivation from May to November, protected cultivation from March to May, delayed cultivation is from November to December or January.

There are three major categories of fresh, processed and ornamental peaches, as well as nectarines, coiled peaches, yellow-fleshed peaches and so on. Peach kernel can be made into activated carbon. Stems, roots, leaves, flowers and seed kernels can be used as medicine; peach fruit in addition to fresh food, the fruit can also be processed into canned peaches, dried peaches, peach juice, peach sauce, dried peaches and so on.

Peach tree life is generally 15 to 25 years. In terms of variety renewal, the rate of renewal is faster than apples and pears.
