Is milk powder with maltodextrin safe? Can the baby eat?
The National Standard for Infant Formula Milk Powder for Food Safety (GB 10765-20 10) stipulates that the preferred carbohydrates should be lactose, lactose and glucose polymer. Only pregelatinized starch can be added to infant formula, and fructose is not allowed. Maltodextrin is pregelatinized and made of starch. Its main raw materials are corn and rice, which are common foods and can be eaten of course. Moreover, maltodextrin will be added to many milk powder cans, especially those infant milk powders that promote lactose intolerance. Lactose cannot be added. Maltodextrin is a good choice.
