Causes:
1. The ratio of water and egg liquid is wrong, too much water is added.
This is the most common reason. Depending on the taste you like, the ratio of water to egg liquid is about 1:3.
2. The steaming time is too short.
Some friends were too anxious to eat the egg custard when steaming it, and the wine hadn’t been steamed yet. Steamed eggs usually only need to be steamed for ten minutes after the water is boiled. It is not advisable to steam for too long. The steamed egg custard will taste too old and will have a fishy smell, which will not taste good.
3. No salt was added when adjusting the egg liquid.
Salt has the effect of coagulating egg liquid. Therefore, when steaming egg custard, adding appropriate salt will help the egg liquid solidify and also have the effect of removing the smell.
Remedy:
If the egg custard still appears to be thinner after steaming it for 15 minutes, it is also possible. When the steamed egg custard is still thin after 15 minutes, we can extend the steaming time of the egg custard appropriately.
