Thyroid nodule is only a descriptive term in imaging or clinical diagnosis. Such nodules can be thyroiditis, benign tumors such as thyroid tumors, and malignant tumors such as thyroid cancer.
Take the more serious thyroid cancer as an example. Excessive iodine intake or iodine deficiency can change the structure and function of thyroid. In particular, high iodine diet is easy to induce thyroid cancer. Therefore, it is suggested that patients in non-iodine deficient areas should avoid eating iodine-rich foods, such as kelp and iodized salt, if thyroid nodules appear.
At the same time, in order to ensure a healthy diet, patients are advised to eat as little spicy, stimulating and greasy food as possible and avoid drinking alcohol. In addition, we should avoid eating foods containing carcinogens, such as pickles and meat containing nitrite, moldy, smoked, rotten and stale foods, and foods with serious pesticide pollution.
Special reminder: When thyroid nodules are found, the most important thing is to further improve the relevant examinations, clarify the nature of the nodules, and prevent the occurrence of thyroid cancer.
