Caustic soda chemical formula: NaOH.
Sodium hydroxide (Sodium?hydroxide), also known as caustic soda, caustic soda, caustic soda, is a kind of inorganic compounds, the chemical formula of NaOH, sodium hydroxide has a strong alkaline, extremely corrosive, can be used as an acid neutralizer, with the masking agent, precipitant, precipitation masking agent, color rendering agent, soaping agent, peeling agent, detergent and so on. It can be used as acid neutralizing agent, precipitating agent, precipitation masking agent, color developing agent, saponifying agent, peeling agent, detergent and so on.
In 1887, the Swedish chemist Alenius founded the theory of acid-base ionization (i.e., the theory of acid-base in aqueous solution), and he proposed that acid is a substance in aqueous solution in which all cations generated by ionization are hydrogen ions, and alkali is a substance in aqueous solution in which all anions generated by ionization are hydroxide ions. Since then the alkalinity of sodium hydroxide has been clearly defined.
Storage method:
Solid sodium hydroxide is packed into 0.5 mm thick steel drums tightly sealed, the net weight of each drum does not exceed 100 kg; plastic bags or two-layer kraft paper bags outside the full-opening or middle-opening steel drums; threaded mouth glass bottles, glass bottles with iron caps and presses the mouth, plastic bottles, or metal drums (cans) outside the ordinary wooden box; threaded mouth glass bottles, Plastic bottles or tin-plated thin steel drums (cans) outside the full bottom lattice box, fiberboard box or plywood box; tin-plated thin steel drums (cans), metal drums (cans), plastic bottles or metal hoses outside the corrugated cardboard box.
Packaging containers should be complete, sealed, with obvious "corrosive substances" sign. Sodium hydroxide is slightly corrosive to glass products, the two will generate sodium silicate, so that the glass instrument in the piston stick to the instrument. Therefore, the glass stopper should not be used when holding sodium hydroxide solution, otherwise the cap may not be able to be opened.
